Christopher Ward Malvern Automatic

The Malvern Automatic is my first mechanical watch that I can recall owning, with the single exception of a Mickey Mouse watch when I was a small child.  Since the electronic watch era dawned just as I was coming of age to wear a watch, all my watches have been quartz.  Until my Malvern Auto.

I just became interested in mechanical watches in the fall of 2005, and this one was the first I saw that I felt compelled to buy.  It is a psychological hangup, but to me, spending more money for a less accurate watch, which is the case when buying a mechanical versus a quartz watch, is just a challenging task.  The Malvern Auto's price point for the quality features it offered made entering that domain tolerable.
